Metallica’s new album titled “Death Magnetic”, is set to be released in September and today they released the album cover art and the track listing today in running order and is as follows :

I was really excited and pumped when I first heard that Metallica was working with Rick Rubin on their new album. Rick Rubin is known for producing albums with The Deftones and many other well known groups in rock and metal. As I was reading the track listing, however, I noticed “The Unforgiven III”. The first two iterations of The Unforgiven were good but don’t rank high on my list of all time metalli-favs. What I was hoping Death Magnetic was going to be was a totally fresh start with all new matieral and not a “continuation of the story” or a rehash of an older song. I don’t get the feeling that “The Unforgiven” was a concept song that needed a continuation to begin with. That’s just my opinion.
Yes I’m still going to buy a copy of Death Magnetic when it ships. I’ll most likely get it from either iTunes or Amazon, and guys get with the program and do this right and release Death Magnetic with no drm, no strings attached this time please?
